That the Cardigan Heritage Centre is able to open its doors to the public every year is due in large part to the work of Nora MacDonald.
Nora leads her small team in collecting the memorabilia displayed at the Centre, arranges the displays, and tells the stories that make for an interesting visit to the Centre.
She also plays a major administrative role, sourcing funding for building repairs and securing grants for summer staff. Nora has done this work for many years and while she might like to find a younger version of herself to take over, she intends to keep telling the stories until that person comes along.
Her love of history is evident to everyone she meets and she is happy to share her stories at any time. She once recounted great stories about the era of sailing ships in Cardigan at a meeting of the Three Rivers town council.
