Jenene Wooldridge is the Executive Director of L’nuey, an initiative that focuses on the advancement, implementation, and protection of Mi’kmaq rights on PEI. In that role, as well as in so many other aspects of her life, Jenene has worked to consistently safeguard and promote Mi'kmaq rights, culture, and heritage throughout this Island.
Under Jenene's adept guidance, L'nuey has swiftly emerged as the prominent organization for reconciliation resources, treaty education, and impactful campaigns spotlighting the collective history of all Islanders. L’nuey also promotes reconciliation, holding the annual Reconciliation Recognition Awards to acknowledge Islanders dedicated to promoting reconciliation.
Jenene is a powerful advocate for Mi’kmaq rights on Epekwitk as well as throughout Turtle Island, and this is evident in all the work that she does. In addition to her work at L’nuey, Jenene is also a sought-after keynote speaker, CBC contributor, and actively engages in sharing Mi’kmaq culture and heritage through compelling presentations, songs, and drumming.
For her many contributions to the preservation and promotion of Mi’kmaq heritage, culture, and rights, Jenene Wooldridge is recognized with a Heritage Recognition Award.
