Orwell Corner Historic Village
Discover a charming historic village that depicts life in PEI in the 1890s and engage in fun, family-friendly activities. Visitors can feed the farm animals, explore the Agricultural Museum, try their hand at blacksmithing, go for a horse and wagon ride, and visit the general store, church, and schoolhouse.
Engage in daily programming specially designed to keep children happy while also learning and having fun. Stroll through the beautiful gardens, have a picnic by a scenic look-off to the beautiful Orwell Bay, or enjoy a homemade lunch in the Tea Room at the Community Hall.

Experiential Programs

Spend an afternoon in the time of Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of PEl’s beloved Anne of Green Gables, in this unique immersive experience that celebrates her 150th birthday! Our costumed guide will lead you through the village, connecting Orwell Corner’s authentic late-Victorian charms to Montgomery’s life and facilitating hands-on historic activities.
Visit our adorable farm animals, send a historic postcard, dance on the village green, enjoy some afternoon tea, and follow in Montgomery’s footsteps by taking a wagon ride along a route she travelled in 1910!
This program is intended for adult audiences, but children over 7 are allowed with supervision. Groups welcome. Costumes are welcome but not required!
Food on the Farm: Bread and Butter
Offered by appointment June - September
$50 per person. Admission to Historic Village included. Pre-book by calling 902-651-8515
Visitors experience the process of making Scottish sourdough bread and the butter to put on it! Meet our farmyard animals and milk our goats at the milking station. Grind grain into flour and create your own Scottish sourdough loaf in the kitchen of the community hall, then use a small, table-top churn to make cream into butter. While the bread bakes, learn about our different historical gardens and the food we grow in them and create a cutting board in our woodshop, then use it to serve a delicious snack of your own hand-made bread and butter!

Forge on the Farm: The Blacksmith Experience
Offered by appointment June - September
$50 per person. Admission to Historic Village included. Pre-book by calling 902-651-8515
Explore the ancient art of blacksmithing in our historic forge! The blacksmith will take you on as an apprentice and walk you through the history of the forge and the process of making your own simple forged keepsake to take home. This program is for ages 16 and up and will teach introductory basics to blacksmithing.
