The Future is Fossils: A Pop-Up Museum at the Carriage House
The Future is Fossils! Come experience some of the many fossils in our collection, of both the prehistoric kind and the pre-modern kind. Come join us for this free, family-friendly event!
Check out technological “fossils” from our recent past; items and equipment that were once essential to everyday life, but that have largely disappeared from the modern world. Take a look at our oil lamps, typewriters and gramophones, and play a few minutes of a retro video game!
Then, travel into the primeval past with fossils of ancient plants, animals, footprints and more. Take a selfie with a dimetrodon, an apex predator that stalked the jungles of what is now PEI almost 300 million years ago, before the existence of mammals, birds or even dinosaurs.
The Pop-up Museum will take place on Sunday, May 23rd and Monday, May 24th, 2021. Due to COVID-19 protocols, there will be six timed visits each day, with the first beginning at 10 a.m. and the last ending by 4 p.m. We ask you to please register for the timed visit you wish to attend and the number of people in your party. Each one-hour time slot will allow a maximum of 28 people.
Space is limited, so book now!
